John A. Browse is a Charlotte Martin Distinguished Professor in Agricultural Research, and Regents Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Plant sciences, in the Institute of Biological Chemistry at Washington State University. In recognition to his research on the biosynthesis of plant and animal membrane and storage lipids, and the mechanisms of plant defense signaling, John was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2022.
In recognition of this distinguished honor, the Institute of Biological Sciences at Washington State University will hold the inaugural “John A. Browse Symposium on Plant Lipids and Beyond” on Friday September 9th, 2022. The symposium will consist of 8-10 presentations from colleagues, former students and postdocs of John Browse who represent a range of scientific research interests and career directions in academia, industry, and government.
