Experimental Approaches

The overall plan utilizes high throughput production of recombinant proteins in various expression systems, purification of recombinant proteins and characterization (substrates) and basic kinetic (Km/Vmax parameters), determination of tissue (temporal and spatial) expression patterns using GUS and/or GFP for visualization as directed to by the promoters of interest, applications of knockout, sense and antisense approaches, and utilization of various in situ/immunolocalization approaches as needed. Metabolite profiling will also be carried out at different developmental stages and/or tissue regions.
